I have been struggling to shower. I am not motivated to do it, yet I am disgusted and embarrassed. I live with OCD, PTSD, Germaphobia, Anxiety, and Depression. I can’t understand how I fear germs and won’t take a shower. Please help!

      Hi Hannah,
That does sound tough. It’s difficult for me also to know what I have to do, that it’ll help me, and yet feel no motivation.
Something that helped me was realizing it wasn’t showering itself that tripped me up, but the after. Getting out into the cold and having to dry off and all the rest just made the whole thing feel like a chore.
I have small children and so we have lots of wet wipes around. Even if all I can do is get my underarms and underwear area that can be enough to feel like I made progress.
I hope you can find something that helps you.
