Scared to read a productivity book? Good news. Procrastinators Get Stuff Done is not one.
If you’re scared to read a book about procrastination, I get it. It feels like a book about beating procrastination would automatically be a book about being more productive.
I mean, if you want to be more productive, you have to beat procrastination, so it will definitely help. But “increasing productivity” is not the heart (or vibe) of my new book, Procrastinators Get Stuff Done.
The idea of “increasing productivity” overwhelms me and makes me procrastinate more. Many of us who procrastinate are already doing a lot. We’re highly productive in some areas, but completely stuck in others. The idea of someone telling us to do more is exhausting. We’re already overwhelmed, thankyouverymuch. We want to get unstuck.
The opposite of procrastination isn’t productivity. The opposite of procrastination is progress. My new book, Procrastinators Get Stuff Done, will free you to make progress. It won’t pressure you to add more to your plate. It will relieve pressure so you can do the thing you want to do and get it off your plate.
You’re getting this email because you know me. You know how I talk about decluttering. You know that the decluttering strategies I teach aren’t the typical ones. But they work. Most importantly, they work for you.
Here’s a spoiler about my new book: The anti-procrastination strategies I teach aren’t the typical ones. But they work.
Here are a few quotes from prereaders who have already read Procrastinators Get Stuff Done:
“I feel like the root of all anti-procrastination advice (all the books I’ve gotten from the library and I’ve borrowed on audio book) is really ‘Have you ever thought about overcoming procrastination?’ So I feel like your book, Dana, is so perfect because it just gets to why we’re procrastinating. It goes deeper.”
“I finished the book (but I’m going to read it again). It’s really, really good. Like, SO good and SO different than normal procrastination stuff. I have the biggest bestest feelings about how many people will love it.”
And I absolutely LOVE this comment from someone who hasn’t read the book but is already experiencing progress just from what she has learned through the preorder bonuses! (Which you can get right now!)
“I pre-ordered last week! The four pre-order bonus videos of you working with others using this procrastination method already have me making progress – even actually completing – 401(k) rollovers and financial details I’ve avoided for years. And that’s just from watching the videos and reading the first chapter. I’m actually stunned that this stuff is getting done… by ME. As usual, you come up with the simple and life-changing methods. So grateful.”
How does it benefit you (the procrastinator) to pre-order?
I don’t like asking for anything from you without giving you something in return, so I have pre-order bonuses/incentives! If you’re going to order the book early, I want to thank you. You can get these bonuses via email after you fill out the form with your preorder information at danakwhite.com/procrastinate.
The preorder bonuses are:
- an excerpt of the book to read now
- four exclusive podcast episodes (with transcripts if you’d prefer to read and videos if you’d prefer to watch). In these episodes, I talk to people who have already read the book. I help them brainstorm applying my five step Anti-Procrastination Process to their unique procrastination situation.
- a spot in my live book club We’ll meet to discuss the book for four weeks after the book’s release on October 6th. (Those book discussions will be recorded and you’ll be able to watch them any time during the months of October and November.)
My hope is that the excerpt will get you excited, the exclusive podcasts will start the process of changing your thinking around procrastination, and the book discussions will provide support as you start applying what you learn.
The four sessions cover a variety of overwhelming, procrastinatable situations:
- Helping a loved one move into an assisted living facility
- Finishing a quilt project that’s been stalled for three years
- Moving retirement accounts from a former career
- Tackling 30,000+ photos from a special phase of life that are spread across multiple devices
