Power of Hiring a Decluttering Coach at aslobcomesclean.com (1)

Y’all, I was SO EXCITED to receive this glowing report about so much decluttering progress made with the help of one of my certified Speed of Life Decluttering Coaches. She gave me permission to share her story and her before and after photos with you.

Hi Dana,
Last fall I used your “find a coach” service to locate an online coach who could help me declutter my absolutely stuffed guest room. My daughter was coming to visit and I needed a room for her to stay in. One complication was that I could not walk around as I was recovering from a broken hip (my husband filled in, while I sat in a chair in the doorway). I needed someone who could be patient and flexible. Allison fit the bill perfectly. Over many weeks we worked to empty the room, with Doug bringing me boxes and bags to go through and carting off the trash and donations.

The end result was more than I could hope for. I not only had a room, but I had a welcoming room. My daughter was overjoyed when she arrived. I could not have accomplished this without Allison. I know this because I’ve tried before. She was a perfect combination of encouraging, firm, and insightful as to what was mentally getting in my way.
THIS is why I created my Decluttering Coach Training Course and certification process! I know there are many of you who know the strategies I teach, but need some personal guidance to apply those strategies to your homes. Since my plate is full writing books and teaching the strategies through podcasts and videos, I needed to create a group of coaches I can wholeheartedly endorse because I know they understand the No Mess Decluttering Process and I know they are passionate about helping you apply it to your home.
If you need personal guidance, I encourage you to go here to see if there’s a coach in your area. You can also work with  a coach virtually, like this person did!
If you’ve looked before and felt overwhelmed trying to choose a coach to contact, we’re trying out a “First Available Virtual Coach” system. You’ll find the button at the top of the page after you click on “Find an online coach.”

Most excellent. I also had health issues for years keeping me from decluttering at the speed I needed and moving my body in general. Finally got that sorted and now have the guest bedroom back in order for our 9-year-old granddaughter to have sleepovers.
Our elder sons three all boys (her cousins) had dozens of sleepovers since toddlers and she never had. The lived just up the road on the farm. Now the boys are in their teens and eldest is on his own/married and no longer stay over and live in town.
The room had become a secondary sewing room which I thought would be more organized. Nope, having a second container just made it worse and I could never find anything.
Only decluttering and continuing to declutter as the room is reset to accommodate a bit of sewing machine overflow, it now holds a cot, and with more declutter of the too machine machines in cabinets will a double bed be returned as well.
She asked for her own sewing space to learn, so the sewing cabinets are welcome to choose from for both of us, and perhaps incentive for the teen grandsons to learn to sew, too.
