Hoover sent me three products to try out and is sponsoring this post. The opinions and the messes are mine, though. All mine.
Sometimes timing just works out so well.
It’s spring, which means cleaning just feels “right” even though cleaning doesn’t technically have a season.
I recently received three cleaning tools from Hoover to test out in my home.
- The ONEPWR Blade Max Cordless Vacuum Kit
- The ONEPWR FloorMate Jet Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner Kit
- The SmartWash+ Automatic Carpet Cleaner
I’ve had so many opportunities to use these tools in real life situations since they arrived last week.
Oh-so-real life.
When I opened the boxes and put them together, I had no idea how many opportunities would present themselves.
My first impression was that all of the Hoover cleaning tools were very easy to put together.
When I opened the box for the HOOVER ONEPWR Blade Cordless Vacuum, I thought assembly might be difficult because it had quite a few attachments. But putting it together took all of about a minute and a half. A few snaps, and it was ready to use.
The ONEPWR FloorMate Jet Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner Kit and the SmartWash+ Automatic Carpet Cleaner were even easier to assemble.
So what were these “opportunities” to see how these Hoover products worked in our home?
We had Family Cleaning Day last week. It was the day when the house would normally be cleaned. People were home, so people got to help.
My son volunteered to vacuum using that “new thing we got” and he really liked it (as much as a teenager can like vacuuming). He liked not having to worry about a cord, and he did an excellent job. Though, honestly, I giggled a little that he vacuumed like he mows, straight lines back and forth.
He learned that “ECO” mode works best on carpet and makes a significant difference in how long the battery lasts.
While others were working on the rest of the house, I worked in the kitchen. I used the ONEPWR FloorMate Jet Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner Kit to clean my kitchen’s tile floor. I was pretty excited about this one.
Really? I could really do the sweeping and the mopping in one step? Really? Yes, really. It kind of felt too good to be true. But then it wasn’t.
I filled the self-explanatory container with water and the cleaning solution that came in the package. This FloorMate vacuums both dry and wet stuff at the same time, and there’s a nifty button right inside the handle to spray cleaning solution.
It works! Random bits of solid stuff on the floor got vacuumed up at the same exact time the floor was being “mopped.” Dog hair, bits of paper, a splinter of wood . . . all those were vacuumed up at the same time that spots and splatters were being cleaned away.
I was so excited. Like, overly excited.
Finally, I tried out the HOOVER SmartWash Carpet Cleaner.
I didn’t do an entire room, but I did use it on the high traffic areas of my bedroom carpet to see how it works.
I really like it. The best way to describe it is: easy.
There is no switching around between washing and drying. That happens automatically without finagling. Go forward to wash, pull backward to dry.
Yay for the elimination of finagling.
The machine even tells you which you’re doing by lighting up the words “wash” or “dry” as you’re using it.
But wait. There’s more.
I had more opportunities to use these machines in the past few days.
Opportunity #1: We decided to try fixing a problem with our fridge. This meant pulling the refrigerator out from the wall. That meant a reality-check about the dust back there. It’s usually hidden and beautifully ignorable.
I grabbed the HOOVER ONEPWR Blade Cordless Vacuum and started cleaning. It made quick work of the ridiculous amount of dust bunnies.
This “opportunity” also let me try out several of the accessories. I snapped off the more traditional floor vacuum attachment, and snapped on the one that let me get into all the corners of this excessively corner-ey space without having to climb behind the fridge. Or bend over.
I then used this attachment to easily clean the inside of the side wall. Taking a picture was harder than getting the dust.
Opportunity #2:
Do you ever get in the zone when you’re loading the dishwasher and not notice that a coffee cup you grabbed was actually semi-full of coffee? No? Oh. Well, I do. More often than I’d like to admit.
But then I remembered my ONEPWR FloorMate Jet Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner.
This was after one swipe:
I used the button on the handle to squirt the cleaning solution and clean up the rest. That part of my kitchen tile floor is now cleaner than it was before I spilled/slung the coffee.
And again, I didn’t even have to bend over.
I could go on sharing opportunities I had to use these products (like Hubby’s homemade barbecue sauce that “exploded” all over the floor), but instead I’ll share some unique features that I really like:
The two ONEPWR cordless products have battery charging stations that are separate from the products themselves.
You charge the batteries, not the tool itself. The version of the ONEPWR FloorMate Jet Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner Kit that I received came with two batteries, so in total I have three batteries and two charging stations for two products.
In the past, I have found myself frustrated with other rechargeable products because I didn’t have a good place to store them that was near a plug.
With the Hoover ONEPWR products, I don’t have to. Both chargers fit easily in this spot.
The HOOVER ONEPWR Blade Cordless Vacuum fits in my tiny (unfinished) hall closet along with a small tub for its accessories. And the ONEPWR FloorMate stands upright so it can be hidden from sight in my breakfast area.
The Blade Cordless Vacuum above doesn’t stand upright on its own when put together as a floor vacuum because it’s top-heavy. It could easily be stored in its handheld vacuum form.
I also like that the batteries are interchangeable between the ONEPWR products. I always have one battery charging and ready to go when another runs out of power. I love that I can just switch out the battery and keep cleaning. I don’t have to stop working to charge the actual vacuum.
I really appreciate all of the instructional stickers and quick start guides on the products.
A little tip that works for me (but would probably drive some people crazy): I leave the instructional stickers on until I am completely confident that I know how to make full use of a product’s features.
At least three different times while working these cleaning tools into my regular cleaning tasks, I referred to those stickers. They showed me how to empty the canister on the Blade Cordless Vacuum, how to clean the FloorMate Jet properly, and more.
How are the Hoover Floor Cleaning Products fitting into my normal life?
These Hoover cleaning tools have proven extremely useful. They’ve made my cleaning (and my cleaning-up-after-accidents) life easier. I highly recommend all three products, but both ONEPWR tools are quickly climbing to the top of my can’t/don’t-wanna-live-without list.

I can’t really pick one. They all look amazing and I could use them all to make life easier and the house much cleaner. If I had to pick one, I would say the carpet cleaner, but I could use them all.
It would be nice to have a cordless vacuum that doesn’t require me to charge the actual vacuum. We have a dog who sheds like crazy, and a toddler who drops cheerios and goldfish like no tomorrow.
The floormate would be amazing because I HATE mopping. Despise it. Intentionally mess it up so my husband will do it because I “don’t do a good job.” I hate the vacuum or sweep, then mop. Too much switching of machines, especially with a very insistent-to-help toddler who refuses to nap.
The carpet cleaner would be great because our main floor is hard flooring, but the basement is completely carpeted. Bubbles have been spilled (sooooo many bubbles) dogs have vomited, and husbands have spilled. The carpet hasn’t been cleaned in the entire 9 years we’ve been in our house, because I can’t justify spending the money to rent a carpet cleaner, lug it downstairs, use it, and return it. Because I know I will be late returning it. Working outside the home (I’m considered essential during this), picking up kids from school, cleaning and cooking and everything else, means that I will be late returning the cleaner. Probably days late. Maybe a week. I can’t justify that cost. Owning one would remove all the issues as I could do it whenever I had the time.

How, vacuums and cleans the floor at the same time. I can’t even understand how that could happen, but I would love that. I love clean floors, but never do them as often as I would like because it takes time. I also love the idea of cordless and light. I have a central vac, but my kids bang up my trim and walls when they drag it too far away. Heidi

Thank you so much for reviewing these! I have actually already been looking and longing for the SmartWash carpet cleaner. We recently moved into a “new to us” house with tons of carpet. After comparing home carpet cleaners with my husband, the SmartWash got my vote because it looks so easy to use. We have had many cleaning tools that look great but end up being a hassle. I am looking for something that I will not be intimidated by that gets the job done!

All three products sound amazing, but I’m choosing the carpet cleaner. Indoor cats = hairballs. I swear they have a contest going to see who can barf in the most conspicuous place! And if they feel one coming on, they run directly to the carpet.

Umm, ABSOLUTELY the Cordless Hard Floor cleaner!! I spent $100 on my birthday for a ‘rotating mop’ to scrub my kitchen for me… yeah, THAT’S not how well it happens for me & my tile floor. :/ & I’m currently at home with FIVE boys (5-16) & hubby, so there are a lot of “opportunities” to try it out on!!

We just moved into an apartment with all hardwood floors. My boys are not beat and I feel like I have to break out the broom and mop every single day. The hard floor cleaner is definitely something I could use.

Wow. When I first clicked on the link to your blog from my email, I thought I would only be able to use the cordless one your son is using. I have a regular Hoover, but it is an industrial vac, and doesn’t have any attachments. I like the cordless ONEPWR because it does have a long thin tube that will get into small spaces, like the back of your fridge, or up into the cobwebby corners of my 9’ceilings.
I didn’t realize the second machine was a combo vacuum mop. That looks amazing!! I can totally relate to the spills, and in my house, sometimes people don’t realize they spilled something, so messes get left behind. And I LOVE the idea of not having to sweep before mopping.
This may hurt my chances of winning, but I have to say that if I don’t win, I’m probably going to buy those 2 machines. I only have a couple of rugs in my house, and no carpet, so no real need for the carpet cleaner.

I would love to win the Hoover floor mate jet- I have tile and laminate flooring on the first floor of my home AND I have 3 dogs and 10 cats and live in the country and take care of livestock- so there are a lot of feet going in and out. I don’t have carpet in my house, only a few rugs. I would love the hard floor cleaner. My least favorite chores in the house are sweeping and mopping. I love that this product takes care of both of those chores easily.

I would love The ONEPWR FloorMate Jet Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner Kit because I can not scrub the tile in my kitchen on my hands and knees any more.
I would love the ONEPWR cordless or the Smart are carpet shampoo one. My current cordless does not have a long attachment to reach high places so I like that this can do that. Also I could use the carpet cleaning one on my rugs and upstairs carpet since we have a one year old…. They can definitely use some care!
All of them look fantastic but I really need the carpet cleaner since my dog passed away.
The wet/dry vacuum and carpet cleaner sound very nice, and I also greatly appreciate the feature that the batteries charge separately from the device. This also has the benefit that the batteries are easily replaced when they start to lose their charging efficiency.
However, the ONEPWR Blade Cordless Vacuum is the one I can really use.

Hi there! If I could choose, I would select the Hoover Smart Wash Carpet Cleaner. Our kitchen has carpet (unfortunately!) and there are weekly opportunities to scrub up a spill. Hoover’s carpet cleaner would be a god send. It would have come in handy a couple of weeks ago when I accidentally spilled tomato sauce on the kitchen carpet and it left splatters four feet away. 😀

Hello, just bought a new house and we recently got a new puppy as well. She loves and I mean LOVES to tear any type of paper up( She is dog shredding machine) ( I should give her the bills too, huh? Anyhow, believe me when I say that she and everday life gets messy. From what I read from Dana White and her blog A Slob Comes Clean, it sounds super easy to put together and super easy to use. This is what I need in my life. And from what she has expressed…. it gets the job done!!! Not so much a want, I believe I NEED this in my life!!!

The wet/dry mop sounds amazing! I have 2 young boys and 4 dogs. I am constantly sweeping and mopping. Having a tool that does both would be a lifesaver! Also, I own 3 vacuums and just today found out one is missing, and the other two have stopped working. This couldn’t have come at a better time!

I still use my Hoover Vacuum from 1988 that I got as a consolation prize for losing on Jeopardy! I’ve had to replace the belts a couple of times, but it is a workhorse. I bought the carpet cleaner this year and I got an unexpected bonus–my husband cleans the carpets with it! I think he was intrigued by how it worked. I feel a bit like Tom Sawyer getting my fence whitewashed, but whatever it takes. My fondest wish is that I would win the floor cleaner and he would want to take over that chore too!

I love this post! A good vacuum is so important to our every day lives with 5 rescue dogs. We also have 6 rescue donkeys & horses and a dozen chickens, so there is a lot of in and out in this house and therefore a lot of dirt, dog hair, and horse/donkey hair all over. We are constantly vacuuming and mopping! We do not have any carpet in this house (minus one area rug) and a lot of hard wood floors, so I like both the ONEPWR Blade Max Cordless Vacuum Kit and the ONEPWR FloorMate Jet Cordless Hard Floor Cleaner Kit, although I’d probably choose the hardwood floor cleaner just due to the sheer number of hardwood floors throughout both levels of the house. I think these are great products! 😊

I certainly can use a cordless vacuum right about now. I am a grandmother who is homeschooling her grandchildren during this covid19 pandemic. They have been here 24/7 since Friday, March 13. As such, I have to vacuum once daily because of the crumbs, hair, and dirt they’re tracking in. Not to forget the “giblets “ of tiny paper scraps generated by ripping sheets out of spiral bound notebooks. I was attempting to vacuum, was called, turned around, and immediately lassoed my ankles with the corded vacuum, causing me to fall and bruise my rib pretty dang good. Trying to do my part, but as such, trying to juggle a lot of responsibilities certainly has been a challenge at my old age!

My house is small with solid flooring throughout. Having a machine that would allow us to sweep and mop at the same time would be marvelous. My husband and I both work – our business is considered “essential” – and housework, especially now, is not our first priority. Oh, how I would love to have the Blade Cordless Vacuum! I used to have a lightweight Shark vacuum, which I liked pretty well, but the beater bar broke and can’t be replaced. I’ve been making do with my old (like, really old – it’s going to graduate along with my high school senior this year, LOL), heavy Dyson, but I’d love to have a lightweight vacuum that can actually maneuver into small spaces and doesn’t require me to be a competitive body builder to haul it up the stairs. Cordless is a bonus!

Sooo… this is perfect timing. My 18-month daughter just started potty training herself (she doesn’t want diapers, only her brothers’ underwear). We are home all the time now, so I just went with it. Unfortunately, that means lots and lots of puddles… because sometimes she’s just too far from the potty.

All three of the Hoover products sound wonderful. My 4 dogs require a little (?) extra cleaning. I live out in the country and with the dust – during the dry days and puddles – during the rainy days it seems like I should always be cleaning my hardwood floors. Kitchen, living room, dining room, bedroom and hallways are all mahogany. The bathrooms are tile.

If I won this, I would choose the Hoover Smartwash Carper Cleaner. I have carpet in every room of my house except those with a faucet. With three little children, it is hard to keep those carpets clean and living in a rented house, we can’t switch out the carpet to hard surface flooring. I recently got a new vacuum cleaner, (which my husband tried to call a Christmas present until I pointed out that it was a tool, not a toy), but I don’t have carpet cleaner. I would take the carpet cleaner because we’ve lived in our home for 7 years now and I’m fairly certain the previous owners did not clean the carpets before we moved in. We’ve not had them cleaned (we don’t wear shoes in the home, so we at least minimize dirt that way), and I’m not ready to replace them quite yet, so this would be AWESOME for sprucing them up.

Especially as one of my (loveable) kids inevitably spills something, has an “accident”, or re-stickies up my floor. RIGHT after mopping. It happened last night. The hard floor cleaner would be sooo helpful. I’m not great at keeping up with mopping or sweeping for that matter. Don’t really go around barefoot. Being able to vacuum and mop my kitchen/dining/living room would take less time. I thin I would actually do it more often!

I’ve been curious about the carpet cleaning one since I first heard about it. I have cats… a lot of cats since I do rescue. That many cats means lots of accidents. I have been itching to try to try the new carpet cleaner but can’t afford it right now.

The hard floor cleaner would be so appreciated. I am 68 years old with the normal age-related limited capacities, so bending over and cleaning up the dining and kitchen area is a challenge. I take care of my 2 year old granddaughter, free of charge, for my daughter who is a nurse and instructor and in these times, it is almost 7-days a week. I had forgotten how messy the little ones are in their learning and not having to get on my hands and knees several times a day would be so helpful. Thank you.

I have a steam mop that has been broken for quite some time, so I won’t even tell you how long it’s been since my kitchen floor has been mopped… I also have two kids under the age of 10, one of whom is a very messy eater, so it would be handy to be able to vacuum *and* mop at the same time! I would love the hard floor cleaner. one of our dogs broke the water supply pipe for the toilet in our bathroom and flooded most of the house. So we’re having to remove all of the carpet and pads. I’ve convinced DH that LVP would be better for a house with two dogs and two boys so we’re testing out our DIY skills in the bathroom. If we do a decent job we will be spending our shelter-at-home time removing carpet and installing LVP. I would love to have a new floor cleaner. Thanks!
ONEPWR Blade Max Cordless Vacuum would be a fantabulous edition to this household. Getting out the vacuum cleaner for the stairs is a back breaking job and having to move it from carpet floors upstairs to hardwood downstairs! I can’t stand the dog hair and kids dirt buildup!

The vacuum and wash combination would be my number 1 choice, but I love vacuums so any one of them would be a welcome addition in our home. I have a very large wonderful dog we adopted from Greenville Humane. He sheds, slobbers, and shakes his giant head with his giant jaws and slings dander and drool all over the house. I would do it all over again in a skinny minute. I need the combination in my kitchen where he eats and drinks water. It would clean up dripping water and drops of food in one clean sweep. Hmm, Its so hard to decide. All 3 would be nice. But, I think I would choose the OnePwr Floormate. As it’s a 2 in 1 equipment piece. As I have osteoporosis due to Breast Cancer treatment. Oh, I would *love* to have The SmartWash+ Automatic Carpet Cleaner! My kitty sometimes has a sensitive stomach or a hairball, and throws up. I have a lot of issues with my legs, and so cleanup is not easy for me. This would be such a God send, I hope the random picker picks me! I moved into a new home after my husband died. I also got a little dog. She uses a doggy door and leaves little muddy paw prints all over my floors. I’m a senior and it’s hard for me to constantly clean them and the Powermate sounds like just what I need.

I would love the hard floor wet/dry cleaner! Hard to believe you can do both at once! With 5 of us currently at home, plus big dog and 2 cats, an easy to use all-in-one would definitely make my life easier! I currently have a shark hot steam cleaner for the hard floors but it is quite a process to first clean the floors to the point that I trust getting them wet, then to get the machine out, attached properly, heated up, then clean. Too much work except for special occasions!
Probably the cordless vacuum would be my preference; however, the hardwood floor cleaner is a close second. But depending on the day I might reverse that.
