I have to admit that I stole this idea. 7 years ago, a friend gave a framed and signed photo of himself at a gag gift party.
I/we’ve now done that (or something similar) at least four times.
Don’t worry, we try not to repeat with the same group in order to maximize hilariousness.
This year, I’ve used four of my hard-to-declutter headshots. Two were “bonus gifts” included in other gifts. Two were used tonight at a “creatively wrapped gift” party.
So if you’re looking for ways to get use out of your severely out-of-date headshots, feel free to borrow these ideas.
I’m proud of myself. I think I now only have about 396 left to go.

Oh my! this is funny. I love this idea.
It makes me think of the movie ‘The Burbs’ …when asked about the framed photography in the neighbors house (Mr. Klopeck?) his answer…’eet came wit da fdrame’ (very heavy, I think German/english accent)
ha ha ha …
Have a very merry Decluttered Christmas.
You’ll be happy to know that most of my gifts are recycled /repurposed items, being fashioned and sewn and crocheted into NEWNESS just for this occassion!
Best part…no debt clutter! 🙂

We have creatively decluttered this year with several white elephant gift exchange parties! Only trouble is , we got gifts there too!

Can you write your Christmas greetings on the back and use them as cards? If you have time, maybe put santa hat stickers, etc, on the front? Alternatively, run them through the printer to print those on (or send them plain).

I don’t know what size they are but you could turn them into novelty playing card sets and then run a competition for your readers to win a set of they’re very own personalised ‘Nony’ playing cards. Sounds like you could make a few sets even.

You’re beautiful inside and out! Thanks for the funny advise this year.

Dear Dana,
I hope you’ve managed to declutter these headshots by now, but you could sign them and sell them to your loyal readers and viewers or give them as joke prizes for decluttering contests. They would be great reminders of all you’ve taught us, as well as reminders to keep letting go of our stuff, including our own reminders of our past glamorous and skinnier selves (clothing, extra senior pictures, non-sensible shoes).

Will the real Kristen Stewart please stand up.
Gayle says
YES! I love Maria’s idea! I could so hang that in my craft room to help me think: 1. Trash. 2. Duh clutter… etc. 👏🙂

I did something similar at a party in college. I gave a gift frame and printed out a picture of our pastor from the church website to put in it. Turns out the girl who received it was going to school out of state (home for Christmas) and thought it was awesome.
I also gave a mug once with a picture of my husband and myself printed on it. It was only $10 and I still giggle every time I think about it.

This would be a great pre-order bonus!
