My daughter came home from kindergarten wearing this adorable Pilgrim hat last Friday.
(That’s not my daughter.)
Precious, and unbelievably simple to make.
Here’s how. (I’m using purple paper because that’s what I have. I’m sure there were little girls in Plymouth who secretly wished they could have had a purple hat, don’t you?)
Supplies:
11 x 17 white paper.
Stapler
Scissors
Yarn
Cut into the paper about four inches in two places, at 1/3 intervals along one of the 17 inch sides.
Fold one inch of the other 17 inch side back.
Bring the two outer sections together and staple.
Pull down the center cut section, and staple.
Punch holes at the chin on each side, and use yarn to tie it on.
And . . . that’s it! Seriously, this is so cute on, and so quick to make.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Your daughter is such a doll. 😉
Sorry, had to go there. This is an easy craft to keep little girls busy while mommies are helping in the kitchen. Thanks for the idea.

Our kindergarten makes these too. Last year, when I went to their “feast” (where they wear them) Campbell had her’s on backward. It was so funny. It looks like a helmet that way!

I have so much to do today. I was starting to stress and get discouraged. But then I remembered your rules about doing the easy stuff first. I thought about the difference it would make in my house if I went as you have described, first picking up trash, etc. Immediately my spirits rose a little.
I also have to run some errands that HAVE to be done today. I know I can’t do everything I really should – there just isn’t enough time! But I think with your method I’ll feel a lot better at the end of the day than if I just stumbled through the day doing low-impact jobs and grumbling about circumstances and personal failure. I THINK I can at least have things presentable enough by tomorrow afternoon for an in-home appointment I have then. And maybe, just maybe I can also have our family packed for a week-long camping trip by tomorrow evening. I hope!
First lulling the sweet, but sad baby to sleep, though. She’s almost succumbed to slumber now…
