February flew by.
When I realized a few minutes ago that I hadn’t written a post about my February decluttering progress to link up at Amy’s Finer Things, I clicked on my decluttering tab at the bottom of the page, only to verify that I haven’t done as much in the past month as I should have.
But as I’ve learned so well in this “coming clean” process, focusing on maintaining is equally as important as decluttering.
What have I done?
My two decluttering projects in February were ones that required re-thinking certain areas.
When I cleared off the dresser/dumping ground that is right inside the door where we come in from the garage, I did it with the idea that from now until garage sale time at the end of this month, I’ll be evaluating whether or not I even need that dresser at all. If its only purpose is to collect clutter, I’d rather not have it.
And the biggest project of the month was getting rid of the clutter corner in the office/gameroom. This was my favorite project and made a huge impact. I got rid of an entire box full of the huge excess of preschool materials I had shoved in that corner. And then I found a creative solution for keeping the clutter from re-appearing!
So although I didn’t make as much progress as last month, I’m glad to have this opportunity to evaluate myself so I can be inspired to do more in March.

Just wanted you to know that I enjoy reading your blog. I try to come here at least once a day. I finally was able to declutter my daughter room. Three trash bags, one trash bag for goodwill and over two hours later I finish it. Now I have the rest of the house. Next target is the basement and upstairs bathroom.
have a wonderful weekend.
