Quick update.
I’ve been crazy busy for the past week with the painting, rehearsals, performances, dropping off kids at grandma’s an hour away, etc.
Yes, it’s an excuse.
The state of my home?
Could be a lot worse. I allowed an hour and 10 minutes to get it ready for people to come over for small groups tonight. It was BARELY enough, but it was passable. Many things were shoved into the master bedroom. Didn’t have time to vacuum.
I haven’t been doing my daily checklist for a few days now. I have done some things here and there, so it’s better than nothing.
Tomorrow I plan to get back on track, and am going to go do my entire evening routine right now.
Yes, life got crazy and my house fell down on the priority list this week. So am I a failure?
I’m choosing to say no.
I’m going to go from here and benefit from the progress I’ve made overall, and compensate for the week of chaos.
I’ll post about my non-negotiable for the week tomorrow. I’m thinking it will probably be the same as last week since I definitely didn’t develop that habit.

Just thought I’d let you know that I just cleaned and swept the kitchen and cleaned up a spill in the fridge (totally would’ve left that) even though I’m in the midst of a project, just because of your inspiration. I don’t have a daily checklist yet or anything like that, but you’re rubbing off. And the only reason I haven’t done laundry is because hubby told me to wait until tonight when we (read I) can fold and watch TV. 🙂

Great job, Maggie! I’m definitely in the something-is-better-than-nothing mode right now!

Oh Nony it’s rubbing off on me too! I’d have got much further in reading your blog if I hadn’t kept leaping up to do something and it’s all because of you!

That’s awesome!

Rubbing off on me, too.
This is Day 5 – still doing the dishes. I live with my dad, who does not see the clean/dirty distinction quite the way I do. While I was making my morning shake, I put the empty yogurt tub into the sink thinking I hoped he wouldn’t “wash” it and save it with crusty drying stinky yogurt on it somewhere. But then I realized he wouldn’t … because *I* was going to wash it (correctly, LOL) before walking away from the kitchen.
He might still save it, but I will work with that later.

I love your honesty and reading your journey. I too do well for awhile and then things get busy and I give up. You are a great inspiration and I am going to try following it and keep on trucking.
